For me, the way stories come to life is a bit like watching a TV show unfold in my mind. It’s almost as if I’m sitting back, seeing the characters and scenes play out on screen. But while it might start with that burst of inspiration, that’s just the easy part!
The real work begins once I’ve “watched” those moments and I’m left to figure out how everything fits together. It’s a bit like being a detective—piecing together clues, following leads, and trying to work out how all the parts connect. Then, like a forensic scientist, I dive into the details, analyzing every word, every character interaction, and making sure there are no loose ends left hanging.
I never know exactly where the story will go when it first pops into my head. But once I get going, that’s when I start rolling up my sleeves, carefully crafting each element until it all fits together. It’s a bit of a puzzle, and it takes time, patience, and plenty of reworking to get it just right.
So while the initial inspiration may feel effortless, it’s the detective work and the forensic attention to detail that really bring the story to life.
